A popular-scientific film about beekeeping.
A popular-scientific film about beekeeping. The beekeeper Jan Luberti gives a tour of his Bijenlust bee farm near The Hague, and shows the many aspects of keeping bees, and how they make honey: the straw basket, the modern bee hive, the honeycomb, the queen honeybees, from the egg up to the swarming. The film also shows how the old queen and her hive are transferred to a new setting by means of a basket, how the queens engage in a battle of life and death against each other, and how the females kill the unproductive males and throw them out the hive. At the end, we see the purification of the honey.
